Falguni and Shane Peacock; difficult to remember by the name of their brand one would think but when a collection takes your breath away it is certain it will imprint in your memory. I first heard of them last season, their first time presenting during MBFW in NYC when Joan Rivers digged through their designs backstage. Their spring collection had every color pallet and it gave away that this talented couple takes each piece as painter looks at his canvas.
Very Zen backstage before their Fall/Winter 2012 runway show Falguni and Shane shared with me that as difficult to at times agree with each other they enjoy the challenge and the process of achieving the perfection of their final product.
This duo conceived a very edgy, versatile, sleek look. Collection is very theatrical with darker undertones but glamorous colors that take you to the world of fairy-tales and long lost fantasies. Each piece is made with attention to detail, heavy embellishments with a bold pop of colors. When you wear Falguni and Shane Peacock there is no need for accessories; confidence that you get substitutes it.
Edward Cruz ( Mehron ) came up with a post modern punk look and gave models a “brow crown” along with long straight hair extensions, something to look out for on the runways in the future.
Falguni and Shane Peacock style can’t be compared to any other designer. Fall/Winter 2012 embodies dark glamour and rebelliousness. It is for a woman that stands out and as one of the models backstage told me ” I feel like a superwoman able to achieve anything”.
